The Veritek VIPS 401 low-voltage current transformers are specifically designed for supplying measuring instruments and protective devices. These current transformers are suitable for system voltages of 415V/660V/1000V and frequencies of 50/60Hz. Featuring an economical and efficient design, the CT 160/5A Veritek VIPS 401 is particularly recommended for primary currents of 100A and above.

What is a current transformer?
Current transformers (CTs) are essential components in transformer-rated energy meters, used to measure total power consumption and monitor current flow. Unlike self-contained energy meters commonly used in homes (where current levels are relatively low), transformer-rated energy meters are employed when current exceeds 200 Amperes, which is typical for industrial and commercial applications.

The Veritek VIPS 401 CT converts the primary high current of the electric energy being measured into a manageable, smaller secondary current. This transformed current can then safely flow through measuring devices such as energy meters, ammeters, voltmeters, or kilowatt-hour meters to provide accurate measurements of energy consumption.
